I want to share from my heart this month a story of deliverance. The story tells about a young Mother of five children, who has been gloriously delivered from drugs, alcohol, etc. and the new life she now has. I want you to see where she was and how a Mothers love and prayers, plus
Gods love and mercy has changed her life completely.
John 8:32,36 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If the Son therefore shall make ye free, ye shall be free indeed.
Have you ever entered a building and heard the door clang behind you and realized you were locked in and nothing except the turn of a key in a lock would let you get out. The sound of that closed door in a jail or prison must be one of the worst sounds imaginable to a person hearing it for the first time. I can only relate to this by having been involved with visitation to a prison visiting a very disturbed young man several years ago. I can tell you that from the moment that first door clangs behind you; you realize where you are in the depths of despair or at least this young man was. I have counseled with other prisoners since, all feeling the same thing. The feeling of helplessness or hopelessness to that incarcerated person especially to the very young is devastating. I write to a young man who is in prison but soon to be released. His story tells me how it feels on a day to day basis. Thank God for his commitment to God since his incarceration.
Isaiah 61:1 The spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.
I want to share with you from my heart this month about this young mother, that had the misfortune of being married before she finished High School. Her life has been filled with many ups and downs. She has three beautiful boys who were born in her first and only marriage that later turned to disaster. Her life became a real mess after her marriage dissolved. After the divorce, she took still another step in the wrong direction and become involved with another man. Life seemed to be going pretty good; she then became pregnant with twins. They stayed together for awhile after the twins were born, but alas that too ended with her playing the role of both parents. She has been Mom and Dad to these children through the years and has done very well, but her personal life had taken its toll on her physically, spiritually and mentally.
She began to party every time she was given an opportunity. She enjoyed singing and would go to Sing-a Long parties with the Karoke machines. Of course the locations were in local taverns or bars. She began to drink and somewhere along the way to disaster, she encountered drugs and began mingling with them. She was even guilty of selling drugs or at least buying and knowing the dealers. Eventually she was arrested and let out on bail. She continued living her life much as usual awaiting the trial, without much restraint.
Her court date finally arrived and she went to court. Everything was fine until the trial was finally over and she was on her way out of the courthouse, having received 3 years probation when the Judge asked her a question. He asked her if they did a random blood test at that very moment, if she could pass it. She was very honest and told him, she wasnt sure she could. He gave her 15 days in jail with 10 days with good behavior.
This young lady was in terrible shape when she called her Mother to ask someone to care for her children. But, the conviction of the Holy Spirit had been upon her for quite some time and this incident brought her to her knees.
Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
II Corinthians 5:17 If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
She called our ministry from the jail and said she had made a commitment to God. We had prayer with her and felt she was truly delivered. This young girl had been brought up in church, so she knew the way back to God. She repented and promised God she would never touch alcohol or drugs again, and that her life was in His hands. She became a witness to the other women who were in the cell with her as she sang He Touched Me, and they would ask her all day long to sing it again. She was in church the first Sunday she got out of jail and her children were all in the altar, even her teen-age son and his girl friend. She is now singing a brand new God Given song.
II Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.
Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
She has been in church every service possible since then and has proven over and over her loyalty to God, and now has been baptized with the Holy Ghost and was speaking in tongues this past week in a local Revival service. She now has the peace of God that passeth all understanding. Recently, her boy friend of five years was gloriously saved and is now serving God and their future looks great with God in control.
Ephesians 2:13,14 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the Blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.
I wanted to share this human interest story because I think it is important for hurting people to know that deliverance can come and that prayer is still the key to bring those loved ones to Christ.
